My Bamboo Rods are available in three grades and two construction types.
I make rods in the time honored hexagon configuration and the new Tri-Hex method. All rods are built to the customers’ choice of action, my tapers or those of the masters.

Guide's Special: In order to offer an alternative to the cheap imported rods, I make an introductory level rod. Its features are:

• Two piece rod with a single tip, matched bamboo.
• Hexagon construction only.
• Composite cork grip.
• Aluminum down lock reel seat
• Hook keep and winding check.
• Single color on the wraps.
• Snake Brand guides.
• Carbide stripper.
• Cordura covered pvc tube from Landmark.

Standard Grade:

• Two piece, two tip rod, all matched bamboo from a single culm
• Hexagon or Tri-Hex construction
• The best natural cork I can find with your choice of handle shape.
• Nickel silver down locking reel seat.
• Hook keeper and winding check
• Snake Brand guides and agate stripper.
• Two colors of silk thread for the wraps.
• Your choice of rod tube, either cordura or aluminum with a sock.

Superior Grade Rods: Standard grade rods that have custom work chosen by you, the customer. Options are:

• Flaming
• Intermediate wraps.
• Bluing.
• Black-chrome guides and stripper
• Fancy wraps to customers specifications.
• Up-graded reel seats.
• Hexagon or tri-hex
• Up-graded tube.
• Mortised handle
• Three-piece construction.

Actions and Tapers.
I will build almost any published taper. I have my own “favorites” that I like to cast and I can modify most tapers to different lengths, number of sections, or line weight. The best feature of bamboo is that the rods can be tailored to the owner's specifications making them a true custom built fly rod. Choose one of my tapers or have a “classic” built from a taper of the old masters.
